ACHIEVEMENTS
Kynan Darius Chenai has actively taken
part in all school sports. He excelled in swimming, football
and hockey. However shooting was not a part of the sporting
activities at school.
Kynan took up the sport of shotgun Trap
shooting in 2003. It was around this time that Hyderabad
hosted the "32nd National Games" and an international
class trap shooting range was built for the games. This
became accessible to aspiring shooters from Hyderabad. Kynan
started training initially with his father and later with
other professional shooters like the legendary Mansher Singh
the 4 time olympian.

50th National
Shooting Championships 2007
His first national win was in Junior Men's
Trap Shooting in the 2007 at the 50th National Shooting
Championships in Jaipur. Participating as a relatively unknown
competitor Kynan won gold medal at this championship
Asian clay Championships
at Jaipur in February 2008
He seriously started competing in the sport
in 2008 and his first international competitive experience
was at the Asian Clay Championships at Jaipur in February
2008. Here competing in Junior Men's category of Trap Shooting
he won the silver medal with a total of 109 points, behind
Sayid Muqlid (Kuwait) 119 points and ahead of Oman Aldaihani
(Kuwait) 106.

To hone his skills further he trained for
a month in Italy under the renowned coach Marchello Dardi.
The training helped him immensely and prepared him for the
on coming competition at the Common Wealth Youth Games.
Fifth Grand Prix
International, Porpetto,Italy
In August 2008 Kynan competed in the Fifth
Grand Prix International, Porpetto, Italy in the Trap Shooting
Junior Men and was placed 4th with 116/125 (136/150).

Common Wealth
Youth Games 2008
In October 2008, Common Wealth Youth Games
2008 were hosted in Pune, India. Representing India, in
Trap Shooting Kynan returned with scores of 23,22,22,22,22
- 111 and 17 in the final outing with a total score of 128.
Closely competing with Ryan Bugeja of Malta and Micheal
McNabb of Australia he grabbed the gold with a narrow margin
of 1 point. Ryan and Micheal eventually bagged silver and
bronze respectively.

51st National
Shooting Championships-2009
In December 2008, The National Rifles Association
of India held the 51st National Shooting Championships at
Jaipur. 17 year old Kynan successfully defended his national
title in the Junior Men's Trap Shooting competition. A rare
phenomenon occurred during these championships. His father
Darius Chenai won the Men's Title at Trap Shooting to become
the national champion participating as a rank outsider,
unseeded in the tournament.

The 2009 ISSF
Shotgun World Championship
The 2009 ISSF Shotgun World Championships
were organized in August at The Gaj Shooting range in Maribor,
Slovenia, where around 600 shooters from 70 different countries
took part in Trap, Skeet and Double Trap in all categories.
Kynan competing in Junior men's trap finished 15th with
117 points.

In 2009-10 Kynan is concentrating on completing
the A-Levels (GCE) at Hebron School. He has achieved his
AS-Levels with good grades. His rigorous training in the
sport continues under renowned coach Marchello Dardi of
Italy. His ultimate aim is to get a gold medal in the World
Championships and 2012 London Olympic games.
